Dear Readers,

      We are home!  Tired, jet-lagged and loaded with wonderful memories of a beautiful country filled with generous people.  Our school visits were more than we could have hoped for.  Over the next few days, we will be processing all that we saw and heard.  Our notes and reflections will be posted on the Grant/EDCI 397 page.  Our deepest thanks to Fund for Teachers for financially supporting this amazing journey.  Thanks, as well, to all of you who shared our trip via this wiki.

 Cabot Primary Teachers Awarded A "Fund for Teachers" Grant to Study Math and Literacy in New Zealand

Lynn Talamini and Donna Stone received a $10,000 grant through the American Fund For Teachers  to travel to New Zealand this summer and study math, literacy, and culture. New Zealand leads the world in literacy rates. Donna and Lynn have both used math and literacy programs developed in New Zealand in their classroom and will see these programs in action through school visits and meetings with New Zealand educators.
